How To Change Windows 7 Start Menu Button
Today you are going to see how to change the start menu button in windows 7.
Why I'm writing this article:
- I'm bored of the default start menu button.
- I created this blog and then did nothing.
- To have some fun and help someone.
Let's change the start menu button!
IMPORTANT: Before changing the start menu button, you must create a system restore point. In case you encounter issues, you can easily revert back and avoid further headaches.
Here is how to create a system restore point:
1. Open the start menu and right-click on the "Computer", then select "Properties".
2. Click on "System Protection", a small window will appear.
3. Make sure your system drive (normally the C drive) protection is turned on. Then click on the "Create" button.
4. Enter a suitable description for the restore point. Then click on the "Create" button. Wait for few seconds, you will see a dialog box saying "The restore point was created successfully."
You are now safe to change the Start Menu Button anyway you want...

Here is how to change windows 7 start menu button:
First, download this image to your computer.
Then download "Windows 7 start button changer" program. Here is the download link:
Extract the zip file, then run that "Windows 7 start menu changer.exe" file with administrator privileges, then you will see a window as shown below.
Note: Don't run this program without the administrator privilege, otherwise it will show an error message saying "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Access to the path 'C:\Windows\W7SBC\res.exe' is denied."
Then select and open the bitmap image, now your windows start menu button should look something like this:
If you know how to use Photoshop, then edit the bitmap image and create a unique start menu button. Otherwise, search for "start button orbs" on the web, you will get tons of start button orbs!
To get the default orb, simply click on the folder icon on the program.
