FBI To Crack The San Bernardino Shooter's iPhone

San Bernardino Shooter iPhone

Can FBI be able to crack the San Bernardino shooter's iPhone?

What you think? put your thoughts in the comment box below.

It is reported that the FBI is going to crack the shooter's encrypted iPhone with the help of an Israeli company named "Cellebrite". If they succeed, then the FBI will no longer need the help of Apple.Inc.

A lot of media sites are speculating about the methods the Cellebrite will use to get into the shooter's iPhone. If there is no bug in the iPhone the Cellebrite can exploit, the best method to get the data from that iPhone is "NAND Mirroring", because there is a huge chance that the iPhone might be set to erase the data after the tenth wrong PIN input.

WHAT IS NAND MIRRORING

In this technique, the iPhone will be dismantled and the NAND memory module will be removed so that it can be copied. Then the phone will subject to a brute-force attack.

Even if the phone erases itself after the tenth attempt, they can just restart the process.

"This technique is kind of like cheating at Super Mario Bros. with a save-game, allowing you to play the same level over and over after you keep dying," security researcher Jonathan Zdziarski wrote on his blog.

Anyway, what you think the FBI should do in this case?
